Staff Selection commission Junior Engineer Examination also Known as SSC Je or SSC Jen is an all India entrance Examination conducted SSC (Staff Selection commission). earlier SSC Je / Jen/ Junior Engineer Examination is mainly for Diploma engineering students of Civil engineering , Mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering but after year 2009 Engineer Graduates also can appear from exam s . je Examination Is conducted for Jobs in Central Government department like CPWD, MES, Farraka Barrage, BRO, Department of post , CWC, for the post of Junior Engineer. SSC Jen exam primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of the candidate in various undergraduate subjects in Engineering and Diploma Engineering. SSC-Jen Examination is conducted by SSC every year in the month of May-June. The examination has two parts:

• Written examination
• Interview

A) Written Examination SSC Jen junior Engineer The written covers two parts of 500 marks which is conducted in two parts. Part I consists of objective type questions and part II is of conventional papers. Both parts cover the entire syllabus of the relevant engineering branch.There are one objective paper and one Subjective Paper in SSC Jen Examination. In Objective papers there is a 1/4rd Negative marking for wrong answers i.e. 33.33% of allotted marks will be deducted. The examination of objective paper will be conducted as:


SSC Jen Junior Engineer PAPER - I :
Paper 1 which is objective paper has two parts:

Part A : General Reasoning & General Knowledge (50 questions of each of 100 marks)
Part B :Technical (100 questions 100 marks)


Part A : General Reasoning-The question paper in General Reasoning will be designed to test the candidate’s understanding of Logical thinking and mental ability.

Part B : General Studies-The paper in General Studies will include knowledge of current events and of such matters as of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person. The paper will also include questions on History of India and Geography of a nature which candidates should be able to answer without special study.


SSC Jen Junior Engineer PAPER - II :

Before year 2014 Both papers of SSC Jen Junior engineer Examination has been taken on same day in morning and afternoon shift but in year 2014 examination Staff Selection Commission (SSC) initially take only multiple choice examination and after declaration of Result of Paper I, Paper II has been taken . Paper II of SSC Je Examination Comprises subjective questions from relevant engineering branch.The level of questions is moderate . To prepare for the objective paper you should focus on previous year’s papers. Type and level of questions remains same. Whenever you solve the previous year’s papers remember the formulae, type of question and process for solving the same. Never memorize question with answer



B) SSC Jen Interview

Based on written test SSC will short list students and will call for Interview. Number of students called for interview is about 2.5 to 3 times the vacancy for particular year. The interview will be of 100 marks. Those who obtain a higher rank in the Engineering Services
