About Railway Recruitment Boards

Railway Recruitment Control Board is a government organization in India. It was set up in 1998 in the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board), New Delhi.
   RRB Objectives : Formulation of policy in regard to recruitment procedures , To monitor the activities of all Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) including expenditure incurred for recruitment, To evaluate the performance of RRB's and advise them on priorities as required and To organise a management information system for monitoring work done by RRB's

Railway Recruitment Boards are organizations under the Government of India that manage the appointment of new employees to work in Indian railways. There are 21 boards situated in Different parts of India: Ahmadabad, Ajmer, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Bilaspur, Chandigarh, Chennai, Gorakhpur, Guwahati, Jammu and Kashmir, Kolkata, Malda, Mumbai, Muzaffarpur, Patna, Ranchi, Secunderabad, Siliguri and Thiruvanthapuram. Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) conducts computer based examination for recruitment of Junior Engineer Group (Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant) Senior Section Engineer Group (Senior Section Engineer & Chief Depot Material Superintendent), ALP & Technician posts and RRB-NTPC (Non Technical Popular Categories) exam to recruit Commercial apprentice, Goods guard, Traffic Apprentice, Traffic Assistant, Assistant Station Master etc. all over India.

•    RRB Zones: Central Railway, East Central Railway, East Coast Railway, Eastern Railway, North Central Railway, North Eastern Railway, North Western Railway, Northeast Frontier Railway, Northern Railway, South Central Railway, South East Central Railway, South Eastern Railway, South Western Railway, Southern Railway, West Central Railway, Western Railway and Konkan Railway.
•    RRB Training Institutes: Indian Railway Institute of Civil Engineering, Indian Railway Institute of Electrical Engineering, Indian Railways Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Indian Railway Institute of Signal Engineering and Telecommunications, Indian Railway Institute of Transportation Management, Railway Protection Force Academy and Railway Staff College.
